Language courses
Measure II – Language courses – provides a possibility of granting of the following activities:
- Intensive courses of the Polish language and culture for students from the donor countries, mobile under Mobility Projects preferably organised by HEI teaching Polish as a foreign language;
- Intensive courses of languages of the donor countries organised for Polish students mobile under Mobility Projects, and in particular for philology students of individual EEA countries, by Polish HEI.
The major objectives of the courses include: - Ensuring a more extensive background for the students in preparing them for studies or a traineeship in the host country;
- Better skills in terms of the donor country’s language, to enable Polish students to acquire knowledge in the field of its literature, history and art during study period abroad.
The following activities may be included in a single course:
- Language lessons;
- Seminars;
- Integration activities;
- Sightseeing and cultural programme for foreign students visiting Poland as part of Measure I.
Applicants
Eligible institutions within the framework of the Measure II – Language Courses are:
- For intensive Polish language courses: HEI specialised in teaching Polish as a foreign language in Poland;
- For courses of languages of the EEA countries: to HEI seated in Poland and specialising in teaching one of the donor country languages; priority will be given to Norwegian and Icelandic.
Project duration
A single language course lasts from 4 to 6 weeks. Language courses for students coming from the donor countries should be organised before the semester starts. Language courses for Polish students leaving for the studies or traineeship as part of Action I should be organised before the mobility leave.
Financing principles
The maximum co-financing amount is up to EUR 5,000 per course organised for a group of up to 10 persons (i.e. up to EUR 125 per week per person).
The following eligible costs can be financed as part of language courses:
- Cost of teaching and administrative staff;
- Preparation and purchase of teaching materials;
- Costs of the entertainment, cultural and sightseeing programme;
- Administrative, post and telecommunications expenses;
Payment of advances and project settlement schedule:
- Advance payment – up to 70% of the total co-financing amount, payable after signing the contract
- Balance payment – up to 30% upon approval of the final report
